The Angola Field Group is an informal organization open to expatriates, Angolans, and anybody who wants to learn more about Angola. Based in Angola’s capital city Luanda, the Field Group hosts monthly presentations that cover a variety of topics from the environment to history to social issues to culture. In addition the Field Group offers one field trip per month, either a day trip or overnight trips, with carpooling options for participants without their own vehicles.
In close cooperation with the Viking Club, presentations held by the Angola Field Group are offered free of charge. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are sold at the bar for US$3.00 each. Drink coupons available.
The Angola Field Group meets in the Viking Club, located on the main floor of the former Swedish Building at Rua Marien N”Guabi, No 118 in Maianga (across the street from the new Panela de Barro). The Viking Club is open every Thursday from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Bar do Sulo is this very expensive beach bar where you pay 5 USD for a can of coke, but it is still worth going there. Make sure you take enough money.

How to get there
In case you do not have your own boat, you go by car to the Embarcador. On Samba road you turn right after the Soangol conduminio. Down the hill. There will be many anoying guys helping you to find a parking. You have to pay them AKZ 500 for taking care of the car. Only pay when you come back and be careful to remember the face of the guy who took care of your car. Then you take one of the small boats. Tell them you wanna go to "bar do sulo". The trip with the boat takes approx. 15 min. One way 500 AKZ/person is the common price.

Have a walk to across Mussulo to the ocean side. The walk takes about 10 minutes and there are several paths you can follow once you past the housings on the coast. On the oceanside you will find no buildings, no restaurants and no shadow.
